Position Overview:
The Line Operator works independently and with the team to ensure safe and productive operations. They monitor and adjust machines for optimal performance, oversee changeover activities, and use equipment efficiently. They ensure accurate product weight and labeling, maintain material lists, and focus on high-quality output while adhering to sanitation and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Follow safety guidelines and uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality by adhering to GMPs.
Safely operate and monitor machines, ensuring product quality and proper packing.
Adjust machine components and pressure according to product size and processing requirements.
Check the production line to prevent issues like pileups and blockages.
Stop or reset machines during malfunctions and notify the Line Lead or Production Supervisor.
Sort and store products, operate the machine, and refill packaging materials, including film and ink.
Inspect packaging materials and remove defective articles.
Clean and remove damaged materials or articles safely.
Visually check for leftover products on equipment, conveyors, catwalks, and surfaces.
Remove finished packaged products from the machine and separate defective articles.
Ensure filler pistons are cleaned and greased.
Assess that pumps are in good working condition.
Inspect the operation of steam and airlines for running the line.
Check machines for correct settings.
Verify the schedule to ensure correct rolls of film are loaded and be prepared to replace incorrect rolls promptly to prevent downtime.
Rinse, wash, and sanitize equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Production Supervisor or Line Lead.
Attend all company training sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Competency in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Availability for overtime and weekend work.
Excellent attendance and safety record.
Strong multi-tasking skills.
Food industry experience preferred.
Basic math skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to interpret instructions.
Ability to meet physical demands of the work environment.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or 2-3 years of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Food Safety & Quality Requirements/Responsibilities:
Adhere to all Food Safety/Quality SOPs.
Accurately complete required Food Safety & Quality records.
Communicate any known or suspected Food Safety/Quality issues to the QA Manager and Department Manager.
Attend all Food Safety/Quality training sessions.

Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in a warehouse/production environment.
May be exposed to cold temperatures (-20 degrees) at times.
Must be flexible with a work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility, including weekends.
Hours may vary depending on business needs.
1st Shift Hours 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM PT
2nd Shift Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM PT
3rd Shift Hours: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM PT
