Position Overview:

Oversee and manage all operational facets of the Repair and Overhaul Department, focusing on optimizing capabilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Management:
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic procurement plans that are aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Negotiates contracts/payment terms, issuing purchase orders and invoices, and controlling cost of supplies and materials.
  • Negotiate utilities contracts and track cost and usage trends.
  • Evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and prices, and establish relationships to ensure the procurement of high-quality products at competitive rates.
  • Monitor market trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and quality.
  • Support the testing of new MRO items to ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Ensure that Tropicale is using products and services that are required and represent good value for money.
  • Take part in training, wherever appropriate, to understand new procedures and technologies.
  • Operate the Deacom software to streamline the purchase process and controls.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of MRO materials and supplies, including stock, usage, and replenishment requirements.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence while ensuring adequate supply to support operational needs.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and manage stock replenishment schedules effectively.
  • Keep track of repairs, maintenance and replacements of equipment, machinery, and other materials
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with MRO suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration to address issues, resolve disputes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct periodic evaluations, and implement corrective actions as necessary to uphold quality standards and service levels.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to procurement, including contract management, purchasing terms, and vendor agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts, and ensure documentation is organized and up-to-date.
  • May also assist with product liability claims, safety studies, warranty investigations, and litigation support issues, as well as any other jobs assigned by their management team.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a focus on MRO materials preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to analyze supplier proposals, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

o  Performing the duties of this job will require that the employee regularly stand, walk and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
